Puppies from 11 days to 5 weeks old

Splash is my 4 1/2 year old Golden Retriver. She has had two litters of pups so far. I will add some pictures so you can see what they are like.

Here are 7 pups at two weeks old. I color code them so that I can keep track of their growth and health. Later I can also watch their personality.

As you can see, she is very content to nurse them. It's a round the clock job at first. The guard rail along the edge is put there so she can't lay on the puppies if they crawl to the other side. This is only used the first 3 weeks.

The pups are born blind and deaf. The only things they can do is smell, breathe, nurse, and crawl. At around 10 days their eyes open up, looking as if they are peeking at you.
